Tea time.................again!!!

The kids are on a weeks break(again) and it seems that all I have done is sit around and drink tea with other mothers. Nice as it is I do want to do other stuff but I think that will be put off until next Monday. For the next few days I still need to put up with children running around screaming with delight or screaming at one another.

More blue skies............

More blue skies, more Miss Sydney but what can I do this it what life is centered around at the moment, that and 9th birthday celebration. Oh yeah and also my mum. She is here visiting for the birthdays...........twins and mine. No time for sitting and looking at lovely blogs or writing my very infrequent posts. Not siree it's all about the baking, cooking, feeding, entertaining( not that my mum needs too much of that she is very good that way) organising party bags and games. Miss Sydney will head off to her next destination soon and with her a couple of new outfits so there also has been a bit of sewing squished inbetween everything else. It is amazing what you can do when the pressure is on.
 
Now I am going to bed most likely to dream about some failed game at the birthday party and all the kids going home disappointed........oh the pressure of kids parties when will it end!!!!

My creative space.........

It's quite a relaxed space around here this week. Kids are well and back to school, blue skies are about us, special things have turned up in the mail box and I am happy. This last thing is very important for a good ambiance in the house. So with everything going so well I have had the tiny(2.5mm) crochet hook and some nice cotton out on the couch. I am trying to crochet up some goodies for the smallest people in the house.

Now go and visit the other 96 people who are being equally creative this week!

Retro Redstones........

When I went back to Oz a few weeks back I asked my mum to fish out my very old but very retro Redstone roller skates. I got them for Christmas when I was 13 that my dear friends is nearly 20 years ago. I knew I had never got rid of them and I knew my mother would never throw them out. When I opened up the original box I found a bottle of white shoe polish that I used to clean them up with at least once a week. 

The weekend past the kids and I took them down to the local bike path to give them a bit of a try out. The kids were very interested to see if I could still do it.......I was very interested to see if I could still do it! Much to my amazement I didn't have to much trouble. Sure I was a little on the wonky side when I first took off but it all just seem to come back to me until the very end. I tried to stop at the car and promptly landed on my bum in front of two teenage girls.....they laughed, I laughed and I wondered what those girls thought of this old dear roller skateing. Probably not much!!

Long distance...............

Two people doing a long distance blog..............I just love it! One person on this side of a country, one person on that side of the same country, overseas friends with the same interests, people taking pretty photography. They are all so good for lots of time wasting while drinking your favourite tea/coffee. I know bloggers have been doing this for ages but I love discovering new ones and today I have two for you.
