2nd day back at school for les enfants. They are happy, I am happy. Now I have time to play with new fabric that arrived with mum and a new softie that has been in my sketch book for ages. In between all of this there is many cups of tea talking about what we will make for our next meal. When friends and family visit us alot of time is spent eating and talking around the table. So a good meal is very important.What do you serve up to make friends and family feel most welcome at your table?
Yesterday we had an afternoon at a petite farm just outside Noumea. It was a fabulous winters day(25 degrees), there were lots of animals to pat and feed and oohh and aahh over. Then to finish the visit off there was a cafe au lait at their petite cafe.What more could you ask for.

Oh my what a busy week we have had here! It started with the arrival of my mum on Saturday then husband arriving back from Taiwan on Sunday then there was the birthday of the wee ones on Tuesday, a party went with the turning of 8 and thrown into the mix a week of school holidays. The combination of all these things has caused much excitement with lots of talking and catching up and late nights and grumpy children and ....and....and it has left no time for crafting or posting here or reading anybody else's blogs for that matter. I am afraid to look at my google reader I just don't know what the number will be.
To finish off this very short that has been done while trying to prepare dinner and holding down the fort you get a lovely image of the cake that was made for the party that was.
I managed to finish two things today. The above bib and the last book in the Twilight series. Thank god that is over and I can do things for my family again.By the way can anybody suggest another series of books that gets you in like the above one.
It's Tuesday and I can't wait to send my wee ones back to school unfortunately that won't be until tomorrow. Don't take this the wrong way I love my wee ones dearly but we have had a 4 day weekend and the weather has been good and bad and the man of the house has had to go away again and we are a bit bored and tired and the bathroom plumbing has decided it doesn't want to work and.............and I could go on like this for ages but I won't.
So I am taking a deep breath and leaving the sanctuary of the spare room and going back out to the mayhem that is the lounge room. I know the day will get better and we will all be happy by the time the sun goes down.Also Happy Bastille day to all the French .
I didn't move very far today. The creative space was confined to the couch with everything on the side table within easy reach. You can see a bit of embroidery, some crochet and my new friend meeting an old friend. I think they were left there from the wee ones playing with them.
And while lolling about on the couch this was the view. Blue, blue skies. A beautiful winter's day.

My husband has just come back from a week in Korea and he bought me back a beautiful little gift in an interesting little box.
With a most gorgeous embroidered toggle.
It was a silk fan to add to my growing collection.
