Yesterday was my special day and I had a lovely lunch put on for me by my good friend Kris. There was 6 of us sitting around a lovely table with champagne, good food and scrumptious birthday cake. Time was spent nattering about all the things we natter about. This was funny!! It was a fab day and I am most appreciative to have such lovely friends to spend these special times with.

Thanks again ladies!!

It's Tuesday and I can't wait ..................

.........to show you what I had made and what I received for my birthday a week ago. A little late for show and tell but better than not getting to see them at all.

Firstly here is the fabulous bonbon covered chocolate cake &......



the new doll from Japan. She is a Pullip doll that I don't really know that much about but she is very beautiful and has the most fabulous dress I have ever seen on a doll. I need to do some research about these exquisite dolls but maybe there is somebody out there in blogland that can tell me a little more or send me in the right direction.

Impromtu celebrations........

It is my birthday coming up and this year as last year my better half will be away for it. So today he and the kids got together baked a cake and we had early celebrations. I even got some pressie but I will keep them for another day. I wanted to show all the delicious and fabulously decorated cake they made me. It was chocolatey and the strawberries were plump and red and all together with the ice-cream it was superb. There was no holding back as soon as the candles were out the plates were put forward.

It truly was delicious and there wasn't much cake left after that sitting!

No.7.......

So much has been happening around here but with 7th birthday celebrations going on for days I really haven't had much time to fill you all in. There has been cakes to be baked and eaten, dances to dance, presents to open and relatives to look after. So I am going to leave you with just a couple of photos of the birthday kids doing what birthday kids do best-blowin' out candles and fill you in on all the other stuff another day when there aren't meals to be prepared for the gang and I'm not dealing with overly tired,overly present spoiled children!

Recieved & given....

Yesterday we got a yellow postal card to tell us there was a parcel to be picked up. We all thought it was for D & J as they usually are but no when I picked it up it was for me. I was surprised to say the least. I knew this parcel had come from the UK so I knew it was from a friend who has recently moved there. When I looked inside it was a beautiful necklace with a belated birthday card. I love it, Alison. Thank you very much.
And following on with the birthday theme I have a friend whose birthday is today and I made her a wee flowery brooch. I hope she likes it. Her and the family are coming over for dinner tonight and I had a disastrous time this morning with her birthday cake. The first one failed miserably. That's what you get for trying to cook meringues in humid weather!So I had to rush around and do another.The second turned out perfect. Thank you Betty Crocker.
P.S It is now sunday morning and this was meant to be posted on Friday afternoon. Nothing like getting sidetracked is it!

Saturday nite soiree........

Last night I had a soiree with all of my new friends to celebrate moving from one decade to another. It was a lovely evening, well I know I had a lovely evening eating, drinking french champagne and talking,talking,talking. My daughter and her friends put on a lovely Tahitian dance show for me as a birthday surprise. It was special to see Juliette up there flinging her hips around in front of everybody as she tends to be a bit shy at times.
My friend Donna made my birthday cake. Coconut and passionfruit. It was delicious. It was made with fruit from the vine in the backyard and it came complete with marshmallow flowers.
The gang of girls all chipped in and bought me some lovely birthday gifts. Theirs is the fab bracelet full of jingles. It even has a touch of france with a little eiffel tower. A pair of Franck Herval earrings. They are from Paris. Oh La La! Also in the bag of goodies was also a very groovy Lalo Orna candleabra.
The very artistic tea cup is from another new friend. She is local girl(very handy for finding out what is happenin' in this town). The cup is a piece of Ritzenhoff china, which I had never heard of until I met her. It hails from Germany. I might have to make a point of looking the rest of the collection. I see a set of tea cups like this sitting on my shelf making themselves right at home.
My lucky last presents from the family was a fantastic bag. I was going to put up a picture but I am sick of trying to figure out how to put pictures where I want them to be. All the above ones have been put in at random and they have turned out ok but I want to be able to move them where I want them.
Any tips anybody!!!!

Oh the lovely gifts........

The other day I was reading on another blog about birthdays. Pip from here
suggested that celebrations should last for a week and I totally agree with her. I have a birthday coming up in the next week and I have already received some lovely gifts. I think I got a couple in advance because my husband felt a wee bit guilty that he was going to be away for what I call a monumental birthday(40) or he didn't trust the kids to keep their mouths closed leading up till the big day.

Gift number 1 I opened was a fabulous painting by a local artist by the name of 'Fouoche Sandrina'. I can't tell you much about him as we don't know anything. The lady in the shop that we bought it from spoke no english. All we know is that we like his style. There are others in there that might be coming to live with us in the near future.

Gift number 2 was a beautiful pendant of an amber looking stone which has had a little floral spray engraved out of it. This makes it look all ye olde worlde. Also a silver heart bracelet that I have been spying for a long time. It is from a french jeweller named 'Yuna'. I do love them very much.

And look I still have a third one left to open an the special day(we just recently purchased the old chinese bureau that it is sitting on and I am claiming that as a birthday gift as well).

It's my birthday today........and mine too.....

Look at our booty of birthday gifts.....these are all things that everybody has sent us over from Melbourne. We would like to thank you all very much for making us so happy on our 6th birthday. We just don't know what to play with first or next or even after that! This is going to keep us entertained all next week for we have a week of holidays. Maybe mum will be able to get those 2 books read that she has been hanging out to do.

Must go now have got to go and play with something we haven't played with yet!!!
