Post 550................

Well here I am back from our brief but very busy trip to Tokyo. It is such a huge place and there is so much to do you just don't know where to start. This time we were a bit more organised and had a few places on our to do list so we had abit of a plan. Meiji Temple in Harajuku & Takeshita st, Kiddyland, Sanrio Puroland(bit disappointing), Junie Moon  and any Daiso shop(100 yen) shop we could find. We also had to fit in as many meals as we could eat as we all love the Japanese food and it was hot so the local cold beer was always calling us. We had a hoot again and are already planning when we can go back again.

Now I did say when I got back I would do my post no.550 giveaway and here are the goodies I found. The first prize pack is for the girl who likes bits. I found some nice fat quarters, trim, little crochet butterflies, jingley bells( I am always looking for these) and some sticky heart border(only in Japan!!).

The second little prize pack is for the Blythe fan out there. 5 postcards, sticker sheet, little writing pad & some clips all found at Junie Moon.

Felties & fun!...........

Sorry everybody I missed yesterdays post not for any other reason than purely running out of time. Today I was determined to get something up as this is two I have missed and I don't want to miss anymore. Todays post is not so very exciting but it is something that we have been doing, well me and the kids anyway husband has been lying on the couch. He had a very big week in Sydney! Anyway making felties is what we have done. We have this great book, Felties and seriously it is fantastic. It has cute projects for the kids, they are easy enough for them to make most of it by themselves and they love it. What more can you want. The kitchen table is one hell of a mess but who doesn't sometimes like a night of eating your dinner on your lap. Seriously I say if you are looking for a gift for around about 8 year old up I would spend my money on it, it is a winner.

Giveaway day.........

Salut everybody! Forgive me dear readers as I had totally forgotten that I said I would have a giveaway in this month of Blogtoberfest. This morning I jumped out of bed thinking that I need to get going and announce something considering we are way past halfway of this full month of posting. Ok the prize isn't fully decided upon but I will have 2 up for grabs. Firstly one of my owls, not the one above but one with colours very similar and a little pacific surprise. Second will be some pacific island inspired fat quarters and a surprise.

My creative space.........

Full steam ahead in the creative space today. I have a full day of activities which will include some crafting, some errand running and some lunching with a few lovely ladies. All good things for this sunny Thursday. This morning I finished up the brooch that is going to be the prize in my giveaway. How many shoes does one girl need?..........................

How many shoes does one girl need? Who knows but the more the merrier....yes! A couple of weeks back I bought a whole lot of shoes for my Blythe girls. Too many infact but how could I resist a bargain, they cost me a whopping 99 cents. The postage was a whole lot more than that as they had to come from Hong Kong. Anyway about the same time as I was ordering these lovely things my 400th post came about and I didn't do anything to celebrate it. So I am going to have a giveaway on my 418th post instead. There is a little catch to this giveaway you have to tell me how many shoes & boots there are in the photo. I will do 2 prizes one for the Blythe dolly lovers which will include a pair of shoes and something to go with them and for the other prize I haven't decided yet but maybe one of my new brooches. In your comment tell me which category you are in. Dolly or brooch! I will leave the giveaway open till next Sunday afternoon and then pull a correct answer from a hat.

Day 7- Fabric

A few weeks back I was lucky enough to be the winner of one of Retromummy's giveaway's of there are many. I never did get to write my post and thank her very much. So here it is 'Thank you very much Retromummy'. I won some Heather Ross-Far Far Away fabrics. There was a bit of a problem with the postal services involved. It took more than 2 weeks to get from Sydney to Noumea which is a 2 1/2 hour plane flight. I am constantly bamboozled by the New Caledonia OPT. I know we work on Pacific time here but that was ridiculous.

Anyway it is here in my hot little hands and I need to make something from it. It is a wonderfully soft fabric so I think I will firstly make a skirt for Juliette and then see what other inspiration comes my way. If you go to retromummy's blog right now you will see she has another giveaway going. That girl is just tooooooo generous!!!!!!!

Giveaway goodness............

What a very rewarding week I have had so far. Not rewarding in me getting stuff done that I need to but in winning things. It is up to 3 so far but I think that is were it will end. I can't be to greedy. The special things are as follows.

1:: A sweet package of barrettes from And she's off as part of the sew mama sew giveaway.

2:: I guessed the right twins on little arty crafty crow. I thought this would be a tricky one but obviously the brain was working correctly yesterday.

3:: and there was a Pendantic pendant going begging at Pink Licorice-life that needed to come to the Pacific.

That is a whole lot of goodness for one week. Now I am going to be sitting and waiting for the sound of our postie whizzing down our street.

It's a celebration.........

Guess what everybody this is my 200th post! I am not a super dooper regular blogger so it has taken me a while to get here. There is not always a lot happening on this wee island to write about. There is also only so many times you can tell everybody about the beautiful blue skies or the kids swimming in winter or how good the patisseries are here. I am hoping to hit the next hundred a bit faster but I thought in celebration of this major event I will have my first giveaway. This may be incentive for the few lurkers I have leaving a comment. In the give away will be one of my new girls above, clothed of course! Also I will include some lovely polynesian fabric and maybe something French. How good will that be!
